TOURS – SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS EXTENSION PROGRAM
Day 1: Transfer from M/V Polar Star and head north into the Highlands to charming Royal Deeside, strongly connected to the Royal Family who have holidayed there since 1848. Upon arrival, enjoy a short walk in the area and dinner that evening.
Day 2: Your guide will take you on a walk along the Whisky Smugglers Trails followed by a private tour of the famous Glenlivet whiskey distillery, the first licensed distillery in the Highlands.
Day 3: If the Royal Family is not in residence, take a private guided tour of Balmoral Castle and grounds and in the afternoon, a scenic walk around one of the area’s many beautiful lochs. In the evening, travel to the Speyside area for dinner and your overnight accommodation.
Day 4: Start your day with a wildlife walk in the Abernethy Forest to spot Ospreys that were once extinct in the British Isles. In the afternoon, visit the atmospheric Culloden Battlefield to learn about the last battle on British soil.
Day 5: After breakfast and a short walk to the Falls of Bruar, return to Edinburgh and transfer to the airport for your journey home or be dropped downtown to continue sightseeing on your own.
