Antarctica
A trip to Antarctica is not your average holiday. It is a life-changing experience into a new world that can never be forgotten, a chance to step outside the fast paced ways of modern living into a land where nature still reigns supreme. We invite you to join us as the M/V Polar Star weaves her way through magical landscapes of ice. While here we encounter huge tabular ice bergs, pristine glaciers, ice floes, jagged peaks and white expanses as far as the eye can see. There is a feeling of tranquility here and perfection – evident in amazing sunsets of all colours of the rainbow.
The Antarctic is nature’s playground; there is nowhere else in the world quite like it. We will visit crowded rookeries, abuzz with penguins going about their affairs, be greeted on the beach by seals making their way to or from the nutrient rich waters to feed and watch out for whales including Humpback, Minke and Orca. Above, the elegant Albatross soars and the silence is broken by the calls of an amazing variety of birds who call this place home. Antarctica has a lesson for all of us and it is an unforgettable experience witnessing up close these creatures living together in harmony in a truly untamed wilderness.
How long you spend there is up to you. We offer epic voyages of 19 days that visit the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands as well as 10, 11 & 12 day voyages to the peninsula only. As well, each season, two expeditions that attempts to cross the legendary polar circle and often another ventures into the ice bound waters of the Weddell Sea.
The M/V Polar Star is the ideal vessel to carry you to this once unreachable region. We do not carry more than 100 passengers on any of our expeditions to Antarctica, allowing all passengers to go ashore at once or Zodiac cruise together. This is combined with the powerful ice capability, on deck viewing areas and our unique open bridge policy. Your adventure awaits you
